Home ear cleaning care:
Routine ear cleaning may be repeated daily, after giving a bath or swimming. Most veterinary dermatologist suggest routine ear cleaning beacause they decrease the chance for infections. Ear infections are painful and difficult to treat once they have started. Weekly ear cleanings are important in preventing ear infections by killing bacteria and removing waxy debris.
EAR CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
#1- Completely fill the ear canal with the cleaning and drying solution (Epi-Otic).
#2 -Massage the ear canal with the tips of your fingers for at least 1 min before letting the pet shake their head.
#3- After the head shake, a wet cotton ball can be used to wipe out the external ear canal.
**If there is a large amount of wax then a cerumlytic may be used with the same methods mentioned above before use of the cleaning and drying agent.**

Epi-Otic- Most veterinary recommened cleaner/drying agent due to its high safety margin and its anti bacterial properties. Epi -Otic has been proven to kill 68% of bacteria and yeast.
Cerumlytic:
Otifoam - breaks down wax and debris which allows the cleaner to be more effective.
